What You Can Learn About The Suspension For Your Vehicle In Our Classes

At Dixie 4 Wheel Drive we spend a lot of time crafting custom builds for our clients. We not only want people to enjoy the thrill of off-roading but to also understand what their machines are capable of and how they work.

Our off-road training classes are fun and informative. We aim to give people new to off-roading and four-wheeling a chance to learn how to safely handle both themselves and their vehicles on the trails.

That is why we’re offering a suspension and tire 101 training class. This course covers all the need-to-know bases for off-roading suspension, tire and wheel knowledge. There is an active presentation as well as an interactive Q&A session so you can ask any questions you have. We keep our classes small so that everyone who attends gets to participate and get maximum attention.

What You Will Learn At Our Classes

We realized that although most people are knowledgeable about their rig’s power they have little to no knowledge about the vehicle’s suspension and what it’s used for.

All the horsepower in the world is useless if you have no control over your car and that’s what your suspension does. In this class, you’ll get to learn the following:

  • What is the function of a suspension system especially when off-roading.

  • The main parts of a vehicle’s suspension.

  • How the suspension system works and how to improve it without affecting ride quality and handling of your 4×4.

  • We’ll brush up on how suspension affects the 4WD system, approach and departure angles, ground clearance, axle articulation, wheel travel, etc.

  • The different types of suspension available and which one works for your 4WD.

  • Choosing the right suspension lift kit for your four-wheeler. Is bigger always better?

  • How to pick the best tires and wheels for your 4×4 vehicle to complement your lift kit.

  • How to maintain the integrity of your suspension system for safety and maximum performance.

Taking part in this class will arm you with first-hand knowledge about how suspension systems work and how to boost your off-road performance. This will help you better understand your vehicle as well as help you make an informed decision when it comes to choosing a suspension lift kit or wheels and tires for your ride.

At the end of the class, you’ll know the different parts of the suspension system like the shocks, struts, sway bars, etc., and how they work together to improve your vehicle’s performance. This will help you become a more capable off-roader.
