Upgrades For The Jeep Wrangler JL Parts & Accessories

Hardcore off-roaders need a hardcore machine to get them to all those hard-to-reach trails they’d like to explore and for years, Jeep has delivered. The new 2018 Jeep JL Wrangler is no exception. Packed full of cool high-tech features and electronics combined with exceptional fuel efficiency and legendary off-road capability, Wrangler’s 4 generation Jeep is designed to elevate your driving experience.

The Jeep Wrangler JL comes in both 2-door and 4-door configurations so you can choose the one that best suits your lifestyle. With a 6-speed manual gearbox transmission and a Command-Trac 4×4 system featuring a two-speed transfer case with full-time four-wheel drive plus solid front and rear axles, you can tell that this vehicle is meant to be taken off-road. It delivers extra torque and traction for those days you feel like driving over slippery rock, shredding sand or going over snow or ice.

As if that wasn’t enough, the interior of the Wrangler JL will capture the attention of all Jeep enthusiasts. High-quality materials and precision craftsmanship were employed in creating an interior that has the right amount of style, versatility, comfort and intuitive functionality. There’s a hand-wrapped instrument panel, seats with accent stitching, longer armrests for better comfort and a 7-inch LED display for the driver’s use along with several other great features throughout the cabin.

Clearly, a lot of work went into designing the Wrangler JL and it shows.

Available Jeep Wrangler JL Upgrades and Modifications

With all the awesome features it has, you would be tempted to think that they can’t possibly be improved on, but you’d be wrong.

At Dixie 4 Wheel Drive, we have a range of high-quality OEM and aftermarket upgrades and modifications to help you customize your exciting new ride to match your individuality and off-roading style. Here are some of the Wrangler JL upgrades available:

  1. Lift kits and suspension upgrades.

Lift kits are among the most common Jeep modifications. It’s understandable since you want your Jeep to have enough clearance to easily go over rocks, shrubs and other obstacles on the trail. The Wrangler JL can easily take 1” to 6” lifts to better accommodate larger 35” or 37” tires. This calls for suspension upgrades as well to ensure that your vehicle handles superbly and offers a comfortable ride regardless of the driving surface.

  1. Upgraded shocks.

You’ll need shock replacements and upgrades too to balance your Wrangler’s on and off-road capability. Body roll control and handling are improved with front anti-sway bars that increase wheel travel for better articulation in off-road situations.

  1. Performance wheels and tires.

What’s a Jeep without beefy tires and awesome rims?

Bigger 35” or 37” inch tires will greatly increase your traction for when you need to crawl over rocks or go over some other slippery surface. You’ll also need a set of wheels designed to handle wider, more aggressive road tires. You can take your pick from aluminum wheels that offer a nice balance of sturdiness, lightness and resistance to corrosion. You also get to choose between the classic five-spoke pattern, the revolver style one or multi-spoke wheels. There’re also different colors to select ranging from fine silver to matte black for an aggressive look that will have heads turning when you drive by.

  1. Off-road lights.

Sometimes off-roading adventures can last well past daytime and you’ll need off-road lights to light your way. Although the standard headlamps offer crisp white lighting and give Wrangler’s a distinctive look, they may not be enough to illuminate your way at night. Thanks to the Wrangler JL’s design, there are a lot of mounting options (on the A-pillars, bumpers or windshield pillars) so you can add auxiliary lights including LED light bars, parking lights, fog lights and rock lights. There are also a variety of light guard covers available to keep your new lights safe.

  1. Body armor and protection.

The best off-road trails are capable of inflicting quite some damage on your Jeep from scratches and gouges to dents and bangs. Body armor will help protect your rig from damage and you have a wide variety of mods and upgrades to choose from. This includes roll bars and cages that fit your Jeep’s frame, rock sliders and rock guards to keep the sides safe as well as side steps to help you easily get in and out of your vehicle. It’s also a good idea to fit some skid plates to protect your Jeep’s critical components like the transfer case, transmission oil pan and the fuel tank from being shredded out on the trail.

  1. Bumpers, hoods and tops.

While you’re at it, don’t forget to upgrade your Jeep Wrangler JL’s front and rear bumpers, the hood and the top. You can choose between a stubby or full-width bumper to protect your vehicle’s front part. The bumper also provides space for winch mounts, tow hooks and stingers.

The latest hood upgrades come with air inlet bezels, silencer pads and windshield tie-down straps and they come ready to be painted in whichever color you choose. When it comes to tops, you get to decide between soft and hard tops, both have their pros and cons.

Building custom rigs is part of what we at Dixie 4 Wheel Drive do. We are driven by passion to take custom Jeep builds to the next level and we can upgrade and modify them without compromising the vehicle’s integrity.

If you have a Wrangler JL that you’d like to have modified, bring it to one of our 4×4 shops in either St. George or Moab, Utah and our specialists will help you come up with a rig that’s just as unique as you are.
