Off Road Trail Spotlight: Three Mile Creek – St George, Utah Trails

Off-roading and getting to explore the trails around St. George never gets old. That’s why we at Dixie 4 Wheel Drive like organizing our regular trail rides. It allows us to socialize with like-minded off-roaders while we explore alternative trails to the popular ones in Moab. It also allows avid off-roaders to interact and learn from each other while discovering hidden gems in this corner of Utah.

The trails around St. George offer a range of off-roading opportunities for all levels of drivers, from the novice to the experienced. You can also easily match your driving skills to the trail. If you’re in the mood for nothing more than a scenic drive with your family, these trails won’t disappoint.

Whether you’re looking for a piece of history with petroglyphs or abandoned mines, or simply looking for a drive in the desert visiting creeks and canyons, you’re sure to find a trail that suits you.

Three Mile Creek

As one of the trails around St. George, this trail takes you to Three Mile Creek. The trail goes past a remote area and it can be tough to find your way around. We recommend that you download a trail map of the area from our online store so you don’t get lost. These maps can be simply uploaded to your GPS device so you can call one up when you need it.

Most of the trail will have you driving over steep and rugged terrain so ensure that your vehicle has enough ground clearance. You’ll also need tall tires to make the trip and a suspension that can handle the terrain. Ensure you have a spare that’s in good condition because you never know when you might need it.

Trip Preparation

If you’re planning on going to check out Three Mile Creek, ensure you are in a group of other off-roaders. That way help will be at hand should you need it. Also, remember to stick to the designated trail and avoid littering. These are all part of being a responsible off-roader and playing your part to preserve the fragile desert ecosystem.

You also need to carry enough food and water for the trip. It can get pretty hot in summer so ensure you have appropriate clothing and sunscreen too. The weather can be fickle at times so make a point of keeping up to date with the forecast to avoid being caught up in a storm during the spring or winter.

Finally, your ride needs to be in top condition to take you on an off-road adventure. Get in touch with us to learn more about our pre and post-trail vehicle service and maintenance packages or pay us a visit at our St. George 4X4 auto shop and we’ll be glad to help you out.
