  • The beauty of off-roading in Sand Hollow State Park is that you can choose the trail you want to pursue. You can choose between driving on sand, rock crawling or a mixture of both and you’re sure to find a trail that meets your preferences.

  • Hunting season is almost here again and we know you’re chomping at the bit to get to the woods and start hauling in those trophies. Whether you’re hunting elk, deer, moose or birds, you need to have the right equipment ranging from bows, arrows, rifles, and ammo. Camo clothing and camping gear are also some hunting must-haves.

  • For the next trail in our off-road trail spotlight series, we take a look at Front Range.

    This is one of the newer trails at Sand Hollow State Park and it’s only about 3 or so years old. Front Range is quite popular and fills up fast, especially during the winter 4X4 Jamboree but not everyone is cut out for it.

  • Although we live in the southwest, where most of the trails are sandy, we love going on mudding adventures. It’s not that driving on sand isn’t an adventure on its own, it’s just that mudding is awesome, dirty fun. As an off-roader, sometimes you want to drive through some mud and dirt.

  • Sand Hollow State Park is a haven for off-roading enthusiasts with all kinds of trails to suit every driver. We at Dixie 4 Wheel Drive have had many adventures on different trails and we’d love to highlight them to give people a better idea of what to expect.

    We’d like to take a look at one of the difficult trails: John’s Trail.

  • Any avid off-roader looking for adventure in Utah won’t be content with tame trails. You want rugged terrain that will test your rig and get the adrenalin pumping. After all, why travel all the way to the southwest if you’re not going to experience some of the best trails available.

  • Say you’re in the market for a new 4x4 vehicle. But you don’t want just any 4x4, you want a rig that can traverse the harshest terrain out there without completely breaking down. With car manufacturers constantly releasing new models and touting their off-roading ability, how can you determine which claims are true and which ones aren’t?

    Do you go for the one with bigger tires or do you opt for the one that sits high off the ground? Alternatively, do you buy a stock 4x4 and cram all the mods and upgrades you can into the vehicle? Would that increase its off-roading performance?

  • Living in Utah right next door to amazing scenery and outstanding off-roading trails means that we at Dixie 4 Wheel Drive can pick which ones to go on. We regularly organize trail ride events to encourage as many people as possible to go out and get a feel for the different trails we have in this part of the country.

  • You’re a truck owner and its performance doesn’t impress you that much. Maybe it has clocked a few years and is starting to slow down or maybe it rolled out of the factory like that. Either way, you want to give its performance a boost.
